Version 0.2 (draft) · Updated 2026-08-20
Payment is taken by Paddle, acting as the merchant of record. Paddle is the seller for the transaction: it takes the payment, issues the receipt, and handles sales tax and VAT. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's own buyer terms.
Paddle's contracting entity depends on where you buy from: Paddle.com Inc. (Astoria, New York) for the United States, Paddle.com (Canada) Ltd. (Toronto) for Canada, and Paddle.com Market Limited (30 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AU, company number 8172165) for the rest of the world. The entity that sold to you is named on your receipt.
Refunds are issued by Paddle. This policy is what we ask Paddle to apply, and what we will honour when you ask us directly.
A subscription starts with a 30-day free trial, and a payment method is required to begin it. Nothing is charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription begins and the first payment is taken automatically. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.
The trial is the intended way to decide whether this is for you. Everything below concerns what happens after money has actually changed hands.
You may request a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, for any reason, and you do not have to explain yourself.
Fourteen days is also the statutory withdrawal period for consumers in the EU and the UK, so this is one rule that applies to everyone wherever you live, rather than a better deal for some customers than others.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and we tell you before a renewal that charges a new price.
If a renewal is charged and you did not mean to continue, ask within 14 days of that charge and we will refund it, provided the service has not been substantially used in the new period.
If you simply want to stop future renewals without a refund, cancel instead. See section 5.
Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not end the period you have already paid for, and it does not by itself return any money. You keep access until the end of the period you bought.
So if you buy a year and cancel in month two, you keep access for the remaining ten months and receive no refund. That is deliberate: you paid for the year and you still have the year. If you believe you are owed money rather than time, that is a refund request under section 3 or 4, and you should say so.
After the periods above we do not offer refunds as a matter of course, including for a period you have used. We would rather you cancelled early than paid for something you were not using, which is why cancellation is always available and takes effect without contacting us.
We may still refund at our discretion, and we will always do so where the service failed in a way that is our fault.
Charges reversed by a chargeback already resolved in your favour, and any account closed by us for a serious breach of the Terms of Service.
Nothing in this policy removes a right you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, including any statutory right to cancel a purchase within a set period. Where that law gives you more than this policy does, the law wins.
Email travel@notetoself.online from the address on the account, or raise it with Paddle directly using the receipt they sent you. Either route works. We aim to answer within a few working days, and at the current size of this service that means a real person reads it.
